For our commercial applications we generally chose to go the bulk route and charge out on a square foot price. This includes the price of the mulch, landscape fabric, delivery and installation cost. When installing, the optimum depth depends on the type of mulch being used, the plant type and the soil condition. The general rule of thumb is to install approximately 2-4 inches.
How Often Should Mulch be Applied?
Mulching your planting beds can have a lot of benefits. One of the key benefits is that mulch decomposes into the soil adding nutrients. This is great for the plants and soil, but it means that eventually you will need to replace your mulch. At most, you will need to replace your mulch every couple of years.
