WHAT IS KAYU?
Kayu Hardwood is one of the finest hardwood products in Canada. The sustainability harvested lumber is the perfect option for any exterior or interior project such as decking, siding, soffits, fencing, fascia, pergola’s or interior hardwood flooring. The low maintenance woods are extremely durable, resistant to abrasion and decay and it will last for generations to come.
WHY KAYU?
Kayu wood is quickly becoming one of the top premier wood products in Canada. With the list of benefits, it is easy to understand why. Kayu wood is flame resistant, scratch resistant and termite resistant. Its tight grains help resist warping and cracking and make it extremely difficult for moisture to penetrate the wood, pro longing the life of the wood. Being temperature resistant, there will be no worries about enjoying your deck in the heat bare foot.
BENEFITS OF USING KAYU
In addition to its unmatched beauty, Kayu wood is resistant to shrinkage and splintering as it is highly durable and very low maintenance. Several types of wood unfortunately, are not resistant to the extreme, ever changing weather in Alberta. Kayu on the other hand, is able to withstand extreme weather variances making it an ideal choice for outdoor use. It is also resistant to decay, molds and insect attacks.

TYPES OF KAYU WOOD
There are a wide variety of different woods available that accent different areas in their own unique way. Red Balau Batu is a dark mahogany hue, 100% clear grade that darkens in time to a classic mahogany tone if maintained. E-pay is a Brazilian exotic hardwood, with extreme durability. Yellow BalauBangkirai starts with a color similar to teak but darkens to a warm mahogany color if maintained well.
Maybe you are looking for something that adds a touch of class to any space. With a lower cost that some of the other Kayu woods. Condo decking tiles are easy to maintain and add a touch of warmth to any space.
Red Balau Batu:
Red balau batu has a very similar look to mahogany. It requires very little maintenance and is strong in the face of harsh weather conditions. Red balau is mainly used for deck builds, fencing, privacy screens, docks, bridges and deck stairs.

Ipe:
A Brazilian hardwood that’s the most popular choice among consumers for decking, pergolas, privacy screens and fencing. This deep brown wood is fire resistant at the same level as steel and is naturally resistant to insects and fungus.

Yellow Balau Batu:
Native wood from southeast Asia, that’s naturally resistant to insects and rot. The surface is smooth with a yellow-brown color that will darken over time.

Meranti Wood
A clear grade hardwood from Southeast Asia that is commonly used on deck furniture, privacy screens, deck planters, fences and gates.

Camaru Batu
Camaru (AKA Brazilian teak) creates the perfect carefree outdoor space you crave. It has a density similar to IPE, which makes it just as durable for decking, fencing, pergolas and other applications through-out your landscape.

Burmese Teak:
Teak is an extremely stable wood with an exceptional resistance to moisture, which is why it’s commonly used on ship decks. One of the best things about this wood is that it requires very little maintenance and can easily last 40 plus years
Rough-milled or planed teak lumber is perfect for marine decking, boat building, architectural projects, furniture, woodworking, etc.
- Rough Bulk Teak Board, 1″ to 2″
- Thicknesses are in 1/4” increments from 1” to 2”.
- Available grades include FEQ (First European Quality), G1S (Good One Side), 100% Heartwood (has sound knots) and Designer (combination of heartwood and sapwood).
TEAK POST + BEAM
Teak posts and beams are a great choice for fencing, furniture legs, or structural. Beams can include areas of internal pith or be special ordered to be made from solid heartwood.
